Alliance Assembly Member Sean Neeson calls for return of Titanic service ship : http://www.allianceparty.org/news/1723.html

Please bring your financial support to Belfast Industrial Heritage Ltd for the restoration of the Last White Star Line ship still afloat !

Contact Kathleen Neill at k.neill4@ntlworld.com and be part of the preservation project. We will then have the pleasure to see the Nomadic moored near Titanic's slipway !

We thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Dear all,

John White and David Beddard launched an International Fundraising Campaign for the return of the Nomadic to her birthplace : Belfast.

Please read the following message :

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear friends,

PLEASE READ THIS E MAIL - YOUR HELP IS VITAL

I write to you today asking for a contribution towards the saving of the last White Star Line vessel, S.S Nomadic.

Nomadic was one of the tenders running out of Cherbourg, and built primarily to serve OLYMPIC & TITANIC that were too big to dock at the port. Along with her 'sister' Traffic, she went on to serve many White Star Line ships.

I won't go into her history; we all know of her and the part she played.

She is the last surviving vessel of the mighty White Star Line. For information please visit: http://www.titanic-titanic.com/phpBB2/archive.php/o_t__t_186__nomadic.htm

She recently came up for auction, but failed to make reserve price of 500,000 euros.

The next auction is on January 26th 2006, in France. Please visit the following link below for further information.

http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/irishferries/message/135

The reserve has now been halved to 250,000 euros, about £150.000.

IF SHE FAILS TO SELL THIS TIME, SHE WILL PROBABLY BE SOLD FOR SCRAP!!

I am looking for enthusiastic people to buy a share in her, which will hopefully raise enough capital to purchase her. Shares are £250 each and you can purchase as many as you like.

David Scott Beddard and myself have started this venture, in assocation with Belfast Industrial Heritage. Kathleen Neill from BIH has worked tirelessly on this project for over two years and assures us that once Nomadic is back in Belfast, she will qualify for Lottery Funding for her restoration at Harland & Wolff. What an opportunity!!

We do not ask you for money now, but a promise from you, that should we raise enough to purchase the vessel, you will come good on your promise, when asked. I do not get involved in many ventures, but beleive this is a worthwhile one, of which myself and David will be major contributors.

JUST THINK, YOU COULD OWN A SHARE IN THE LAST WHITE STAR LINE VESSEL!

I am sorry that I cannot contact you all individually; time does not permit this, but your help is vital!

THIS IS OUR VERY LAST OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL OF US TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND PRESERVE A LASTING REMINDER OF THE WHITE STAR LINE

--- PLEASE FORWARD THIS E MAIL TO EVERYONE IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK WHO MAY BE ABLE TO HELP ---

PLEASE e mail us at johnWSM401@aol.com or dscottbeddard@aol.com

The 'NOMADIC APPEAL' raised £16,000 at the moment !

Please, keep help us ! Even if the price of a Nomadic share is too high, every donation will be greately appreciated.

Here is the result of the last Committee meeting (held last Friday) :

The Belfast City Council (BCC) still wants the full participation of the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure(DCAL) but DCAL has no budget available at the moment. BCC still has the offer from Ian Pearson’s office to provide a 30-years loan to Belfast City Council on the table but they do not seem to consider that EXCEPTIONAL offer !

Belfast Industrial Heritage Ltd and Kathleen Neill is asking our assistance. We only have to contact Belfast Newszpapers (Belfast Telegraph, Belfast Post, Times, Irish News, Ulster Gazette ...) :

emcilwaine@belfasttelegraph.co.uk
info@ulsterherald.com
fmckinney@utvplc.com
n.doran@irishnews.com

You can also send a letter to Rt Hon Lord Mayor of Belfast - City Hall - Belfast BT1 5GS - Northern Ireland - united Kingdom

'I think its time we ‘remounted’ a publicity campaign in local newspapers etc. slating Belfast City Council for their stance and saying they lack vision and SHOULD be taking the lead. Can you get everyone to write to the Belfast Telegraph and other local Belfast, and national UK, newspapers – they should be able to log onto them on the web. They can highlight the appeal and the more countries the letters come from the better.'

THE FUTURE OF THE NOMADIC IS IN OUR HANDS !

We thank you in advance for your support.

All the Best,

Phil
