Hallo
Can anybody help with the location of Farney Ville or Villa in Tipperary. I believe it is near Holycross village and wonder if it is near Farneybridge or Farney Castle. Would welcome any suggestions.

I live in Holycross and Farney Castle is just up the road from me. The farney river runs past it. I have not heard of Farney Villa though.
Regards.

Perhaps it is the phonetic version of Farranavulla in the Parish of Ballintemple you seek. It means the land of the summit.

Thanks so much for that information. I had been trying to identify a family who would have lived in Holycross parish - believe I have found them in the Farneybridge area. The reference I had was from the early 1900's so perhaps it related to a house that no longer exists.
Many thanks again
Clare

It seems to be near Cashel. Remember that the 1901 and 1911 census are available on Microfiche now in the Tipp County Library.
Regards.
