Major landowners were Hickie of Killelton, Aghavallen par, nr Ballylongford. They were listed as owning 3,400 acres

William Creagh Hickey, Esq., J.P.: lived at Killelton, County Kerry, in 1864.

The place name and surname varies depemding on where you look ...

on the Subscribers List to A History of the Kingdom of Kerry ... 1871 William Creagh Hickie, Esq, Kiliton, Ballylongford is listed.

I doubt if Cegaal is still looking at this forum for a reply......but if he is..... there are two Killeltons in Co. Kerry (I've actually visited both of them [gr]). One is up by Carrig Island in the Shannon estuary, and the other is out near Camp, on the Dingle Peninsula. Let me know which one it is.
