If anyone interested in Placenames has access to a high speed line could you please take a look at my site www.gallaghersarch.com and click Placenames. This is a bit of research for a masters thesis. It does not attempt to give an explaination of the placename, but to give an idea of how it is being pronounced locally today, and to make these pronounciations available to people worldwide. Caution, you need access to a high speed line and speakers or headphones. - thanks IP: Logged |

Hello Brendanp, Your website appears to be all about architecture ... where's the placename section? I've found a page from the Celebrating Ulster's Townlands exhibition which was held some time ago by the Ulster Place Name Society www.ulsterplacenames.org/county_donegal_place-names.htm Here's a link to another page with a few more names. http://homepage.eircom.net/~walkdonegal/place.html Christopher IP: Logged |
