While searching for family history found a grave of one John Murphy, last survivor of the Deshure Ambush. Cannot find any other reference to DESHURE. Can any one help. By the dates we would assume this was Whiteboys or Ribbon men around 1822 in Cork. IP: Logged |

Kathryn, Deshure is the name of a Townland in the Civil Parish of Kilmichael in County Cork (West Riding). The event you refer to took place there in January 1822. JH. IP: Logged |

hi kathryn came across your post in relation to john murphy the last survivor of the deshure ambush.i know that you came across it when you were researching family history and im wondering if you are related to john murphy the last surviving member of the deshure ambush.if you are then we are related john murphy was my great great great father.my grandmother was murphy from kilmichael.if you are from around the manchester area then i think you would be my mothers first cousin also provided that your mother and father would have been john and theresa.hope to hear from you soon. ------------------ IP: Logged |
